Here’s the recipe for Ragi Pumpkin Cheela. Can be a perfectly healthy breakfast option along with green chutney. You can even enjoy these foe lunch or dinner along with aloo/paneer sabzi.


Serves: 4

Ingredients :

Ragi flour : 4 tbsp
Besan : 4 tbsp
Buckwheat/ Rice flour : 4 tbsp
Water, enough to make batter
Olive oil : 2 teaspoons
Pumpkin (grated) : 3/4th cup
Coriander leaves-finely chopped : 3tbsp
Green chilli, seeded and finely chopped :1
Salt- 1/2 teaspoon or as per taste
Sesame seeds : 2 teaspoons


Combine the flours and salt in a bowl. Add grated pumpkin, coriander leaves, sesame seeds & green chilli.
Gradually add water and stir to make a batter of pouring consistency.
Place a tava or griddle over moderate heat. When hot, smear with oil.
Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it evenly in a circular fashion.
Cook cheela on both sides, till light brown.
Make remaining cheelas in the same way.
Serve hot with a green chutney

Variation: You can use different flours like jowar/ singhada atta/ bajra flour for this recipe.
