😅Someone said to me the other day my legs still looked fat. I laughed.
.
The thing is, I get a lot of DMs, some good and some not so good that’s okay. I do get a lot regarding my legs surprisingly but the other day someone actually offered to help me get them skinny. Boy, what are you talking about? THIS MY SKINNY. That’s such a dumb word too but it’s how people associate weight loss success as … skinny. It’s NOT. I’ve lost over 100 lbs and I’m still thick in all the right places. The reason I say this is “My skinny” is because I’ve never been this weight/size since Elementary probably. So when I get comments like that, it just shocks me first of all that people have the balls to make those comments and second makes me feel sorry that they don’t think of where I’m coming from, how far I’ve come, what my before was.
.
I used to walk around with 31½” thighs. 1½” bigger than my waist today, two of my waists walking around rubbing up on each other. And guess what… it didn’t bother me then and they sure as hell don’t bother me now. What does bother me is people offering advice as to how to trim my legs down. As you can clearly see in my right photo, my legs are bruised and beat up (thanks Zander @teamfit_org for the kneel to squats 😂) because I DO workout my legs like a mofo. I know what I gotta work on and it’s not my legs… in fact… it’s not any part of my body. I work out and watch what I eat because it’s maintenance for me. Kind of like you would do maintenance on your car to keep it running (good fuel, oil changes, etc).
.
What I do work on daily is trying to be a better mom. Trying to teach my girls to be kind even when other people aren’t. Trying to teach them to help others even when they need help themselves. Trying to be patient and understanding even when others lose theirs with them. And right now, I can’t help but try to teach them to be confident… even when someone else tells them they shouldn’t be.
.
So for those people who feel the need to tell me my legs are fat… yeah, they still are… and they’re awesome.
